INCORPORATE THE NATURAL WORLD INTO YOUR TEACHING

Join Claire as she explores nature pedagogy and the adult role, embedding learning inside, outside and beyond. Claire will share nature pedagogy in practice from around the world through an engaging workshop, exploring the way natural elements can be used to deliver exciting and authentic play and learning experiences for children.

As part of this workshop, delegates will:

  • Take a Journey into Nature and explore working with the elements of nature (earth, air, fire and water)
  • Explore the link between learning and nature and the effect of nature on the brain
  • Use Floorbooks and Talking Tubs to document and plan learning inside buildings, outside in landscapes and beyond into wilder spaces
  • Explore risk, benefit risk assessment and challenging children to facilitate their learning
  • Hear global examples which highlight current issues for the profession in adopting nature pedagogy into their setting
  • Learn the theory and hear practical examples embracing nature in STEM curriculum

This workshop will leave delegates feeling inspired, confident in their knowledge of nature pedagogy and the benefits it can bring to them as practitioners.
